
With a total extension of 50,000 Sq meters, the Mining Park of La Union is a pioneer project of recovering a part of the historical mining heritage, to highlight it as a cultural and tourist attraction, as it includes the restoration of a wide collection of mining installations from the 19th and 20th centuries, where visitors are able to admire in situ the whole process of the old underground mining industry, including the extraction of mineral, the washing and ore concentration, and the obtention of metal in the smelting plants. The visit will include getting to know about the lives and work of the old miners from the area of the Sierra Minera (Mining Mountain Range) of Cartagena and La Union, a great legacy of this amazing heritage.
